Medical Assisting Diploma
Medical assistants are valued employees who work directly with patients. They perform phlebotomy but are also able to complete a variety of tasks—sometimes taking on both clinical and administrative work.
Our Medical Assisting Diploma gives you a solid understanding of medical terminology, anatomy and pathology as well as basic concepts of pharmacology and psychology. This program is offered with affordable tuition and is
accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). Along with drawing blood, you’ll also learn how to:
- Support clinic administration and management
- Administer therapeutic injections and vaccinations
- Perform in-house clinical lab testing and lab specimen collection
- Perform EKGs, spirometry and audiometry (tests for lungs and hearing)
- Assist physicians with patient care in a variety of in-office procedures
- Perform patient data entry and charting
The Bureau of Labor Statistics expects the demand for this profession to grow 23% by 2028—and with our Diploma,
you can be on your way to becoming a medical assistant in as few as 12 months. Upon graduation, you will also be prepared to take one of the industry standards in medical assisting certification, the CMA or RMA—and
the exam fee is included in the total program costs.
Medical Laboratory Technician Associate of Applied Science Degree
Drawing blood is only one of the many duties of a medical laboratory technician (MLT).
Our Medical Laboratory Technician Associate of Applied Science degree not only covers phlebotomy, but also clinical chemistry, microbiology, hematology and transfusion medicine—and it is accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS). In our program, you’ll learn phlebotomy, but also the knowledge and skills needed to:
- Accurately perform diagnostic testing and clinical laboratory procedures
- Perform critical tests that provide physicians with the information to diagnose life-threatening diseases and illnesses
- Type and crossmatch blood for transfusions
- Operate and maintain medical lab equipment
- Understand safety standards and practices for healthcare
This Associate’s degree can be completed in as few as 21 months, so you can be on your way to a
profession expected to grow 11% by 2028. Our MLT program prepares you for the ASCP BOC exam—
the application fee for which is included in your total program costs.
The MLT Associate's degree program is available at the Eagan campus in Minnesota.
